ASMAT MUSEUM OF CULTURE AND PROGRESS I am currently working as Museum Staff at the Asmat Museum of Culture and Progress, Agats, West Papua, Indonesia. The appointment came from Bishop Aloysius Murwito OFM at a meeting in Delft (The Netherlands), after I decided on an indefinite sabbatical at the Museum. The year 2014 was spent exclusively on Asmat Museum job preparations and research. Research travels include British Museum (London), Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology (Cambridge), Troppenmuseum (Amsterdam), Rijksmuseum Volkenkunde (Leiden), American Museum of Asmat Art (St. Paul, MN), Metropolitan Museum of Asmat Art (New York), American Museum of Natural History (New York), and private galleries and studios. My responsibilities at the Museum include: documenting Asmat feasts, training selected Asmat students poised for a Museum job, digital archiving, and free initiatives tailored to see what fits best for the education of Asmat culture to the Asmats.
